This is a large campground right on Lake Erie but there are only 15 long, level, shaded pull-thru sites for overnight stays. We had originally planned this for just a one-night stop on our way to Ohio but it was such a nice campground, we decided to stay the extra day and explore Erie, PA. They do have seasonal sites for anyone that might want to make this area their "summer" home and the seasonal residents are friendlier than we've met elsewhere. There is a lot to see and do in this area...fishing in Lake Erie, the Maritime Museum (and lots of other sights) in Erie, and biking/hiking/picnicing/driving along Presque Isle. The campground hosts are very friendly and helpful; showers clean; roads wide; sites long, shaded and level; walking distance to the lake. We would definitely recommend this campground to others who want to spend a night to a week or longer in the Erie/Lake Erie area.

If I had to pick a seasonal park in New York, this would be it (of course, I haven't seen them all yet). Acres and acres of well mowed grass. Seasonal sites are all nice and neat. Peaceful and quiet, country setting. Closest Walmart is in Cortland, about 15-20 minutes from here. The town of Marathon is a bit torn up right now as they're replacing the main street so we didn't go in there to see what shopping was available. As previous poster said, pull through sites could do with a bit more gravel as they are a bit "squishy" but then again, there's been excessive rain in the region this summer. Easy pull-throughs for short-term stays. The sites on the lake do not have sewer, but they are mostly seasonal sites. Not much for kids to do but a good safe place for them to roam, fish, catch frogs, and just explore. The only reason I only gave it an 8 is because there is no laundromat. We would highly recommend this lovely campground to others, and we certainly will be back if we're in NY again.

The price reflects Passport America rate. We chose this campground because it is close to relatives. However, it is a bait-and-switch type of operation. When I called in our reservation, I was told we would have a 30amp site as requested, but when we got there, we were charged $4 extra per night for a 50amp site even though we just use 30amps. Didn't like that too much. Their website also advertises FULL hookups but all you get is electric & water. On the plus side: even though the camp roads seem to go every-which-way and the campground has a lot of trees, we had no problem with our 40' fifth-wheel rig. Our site was averaged-sized with room for our rig with the truck parked alongside it. There seems to be a lot of activities to keep kids occupied: a nice little mini-golf course; pool; playground. Store was nicely stocked. Wi-Fi wasn't working when we were there but it didn't matter because it wasn't free and I wasn't about to pay $5/day for it. My Verizon card worked well although a little on the slow side. We would stay here again if we had to be in the area. I would recommend it to others.

Stayed here at end of July because it was near family. Went to Jersey for 3 days and returned here because we like the peace and quiet, and general overall feeling of being "home". Pool is a bit of a walk away from the campground area; huge play structure for the kids; store not very well stocked but it appears most people here are seasonals and Wal-Mart is only about 10 minutes away as are a complete compliment of grocery stores and other shopping. Sites are gravel and level. Free, good Wi-Fi and cable. I would definitely recommend this to others and will stay here the next time we're in this section of PA.

We stayed here again this year while visiting relatives in the area and enjoyed it as much as last year. Owners are very friendly and helpful; campground is clean and neat, sites are grassy and level. There is no sewer but honey-dipper comes around twice a week for a very reasonable fee. There is a dump station for when you leave. They've expanded the campground into the upper field this year and those sites are nice. You're a bit further from the office and playground and there are no trees there yet but it's like a separate, private campground. Really rather nice. The tent sites here are nice and private, tucked away in little coves. It almost makes me want to go back to tenting! They've added 2 geocache hides here this year so if you're into that, ask at the office. One is part of the CONY promotion and so far, isn't listed on the geocache website. The other one is. There are many other caches within 10 miles so you could keep busy for quite awhile. We will be back next year.

There weren’t any previous reviews for this campground so we went in blind. This is a huge campground, about three minutes from Interstate 90; and spread over a large area. In the transient area, the lots are a decent size. We reserved a full hookup site three weeks in advance via www.reserveamerica.com and received confirmation of a full hookup site. Be aware that the full fee is placed against your charge card as soon you make the reservation, unlike most campgrounds that put a partial payment fee against the card with you paying the balance upon arrival. I did feel the fee was a bit steep for just water and 30-amp electric. Speaking of arrival, the gravel entrance road and interior gravel campground roads are in very bad shape and in dire need of grading and filling. The speed limit is 5 mph but even that is too fast for these roads. I guess all the full hookup sites must be saved for the seasonals because there weren’t any available when we arrived. We were sited in the trailer/boat storage area about 100 yards from the river/Erie Canal which was nice. The sites are grass and nice and level with picnic tables and fire rings. We got very good Verizon broadband connection and about 12 TV channels on the antenna. And even though it is convenient to I-90, there is no highway noise although there is a train somewhere nearby that you can hear every so often. There is a large bar/restaurant and they were having a fish fry the night we arrived. We were tired, though, and didn’t go. There’s a boat ramp that will get your boat on the Erie Barge Canal and two cranes to lift you out although I don’t know if they’re working or not. The one crane is holding a small, rather old houseboat. I drove through the upper campground and decided this overflow area was much nicer. Basically a nice quiet private type area except when partying campers from other sections come parading through on their golf carts playing music loud enough to wake the dead…or when the same campers use the tree line 50’ from your window as their private bathroom! You definitely need a golf cart to get from the lower area to the restaurant or restrooms. It appears the owners are expanding the campground and hopefully, they’ll put restrooms and a shower in the lower area. However, negatives aside, we would stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Nice little campground right off US460 in Appomattox. No amenities except full hookups but a very convenient place to stay to tour the historic area. Easy in – easy out sites. Cable is available only in the front row and is $2 extra. Mostly seasonals but no problems. Grass could have used some cutting. We would recommend this campground to those who don’t need all the frills. $17 is the Passport America rate with cable.

Price reflects PA rate. Very nice campground. Long level pull thru (Yellow #1). Nicely spaced lots. Lots of kids; lots of golf carts. Well-stocked store. A lot of seasonals but most people very friendly. We would have liked to been able to stay longer but all full hookup sites were reserved for the BBQ contest. We would definitely recommend this campground to others and would definitely stay here if in the area again...preferably next year during the BBQ contest!

Nice park located on edge of hill. Mostly seasonal campers but they were all neat and well taken care of. As the previous poster said, there are only a few sites for large short-term RVs with full hook-ups but it appears they may extend sewerage to the newer sites along the ridge. Internet connect good for my Verizon broadband. We had 30 amp connection. A/C is extra charge/day. They said we wouldn't need it but I'm glad we had it. I would recommend this campground to others. One other thing...you have to stop on a very steep hill where 57 Drive meets Church Drive on the way out. We turned left out of the campground and took the second right and avoided that hill.

A bit on the pricey side for what you get. No amenities at all but we knew that before we made reservations. We had pull-thru site #310 which was a bit difficult to get situated on due to location of hill on left and road on right. Currently a mobile home park that the owners are slowly switching to an RV park. Convenient to Route 30 and many activities in the area. A lot of road noise from the highway but we were in one of the lots closest to it. A/C covers most highway sounds. Not a destination park but a base from which to play tourist. Back-in sites on top of hill were nice.

We were only here for one night due to driving schedule, but would definitely stay again. Lake swimming. Walking trails around both lakes. Large sites with picnic table, camp lantern pole and grill. Miniature golf course. The only minor complaint is that the day-use area is quite close to the campground. Verizon broadband and cell phone worked adequately; about 5 channels on the antenna. Very good campground for families.

Rate is a Passport America rate. Popular park right on the Mississippi River. Packed gravel roads lead to sites that are level, spacious paved pull-thrus with plenty of room for RV and towee or toad. Pool, hot tub, bathrooms and laundry clean. Laundry is a bit expensive but they are double and triple- load washers. They do need to put in some regular single-load ones. Internet connection is “iffy” but there is a computer in the lodge room. We enjoyed watching the barges go up and down the river. You can walk along a paved walkway all the way from the campground to the convention center under the bridges. Town of Vidalia doesn’t have a lot to offer but a short drive across the bridge takes you to Natchez, MS with it’s many pre-Civil War mansions and estates. We would most definitely recommend this park and would stay here again.

There are decent-sized level grass lots with paved patio and picnic table. There is no cable but good TV and broadband reception. It is very well maintained campground and friendly hosts. There are a few shaded sites; most are in the sun. There are some seasonal year-round RVs but they are mostly in the back and are taken care of. There is lots to see and do in the area. We visited the Rose Garden. Wilson is a pretty neat city with beautiful old homes, lots of shopping choices, art museum, several golf courses, etc. It is not too far from the Raleigh/Durham area and about 15 miles to Rocky Mount. We would recommend this campground to anyone and we did come back here after a short trip to the Kitty Hawk area.

Only 2 pull-thru sites at this park. Sites in Campground B are paved and pretty level. Restrooms are clean but do need some fixing up. Park office is about a mile past the campground which is a bit inconvenient. Lake with 2 piers for fishing. Campers don’t have to pay to fish which is nice. Verizon cell phone only down near the office and internet connection absolutely non-existent unless you go towards Natchez and find it somewhere along the road. About 15 minutes from Natchez with it’s wonderful history and pre-Civil War homes. Lots to see in the area. We would stay here again and do recommend it for people wanting to tour Natchez.

Generally a nice park. We wanted a pull-thru and access to the site we got was a squeeze through the trees...about 6" to spare on each side. Site itself was roomy enough but as one previous poster said, sewer hookup is in middle of site. Luckily, we were level further back on the site so the sewer was under our raised front and easily accessible for us. Had cell service and Verizon broadband coverage. We were not on a lakefront lot but took a drive through that area and it seemed nice. Waterpark is a small one but looked clean. There are some very nice areas under the pines on another peninsula that would make excellent camping spots. We would stop here again.

A very nice campground with a slightly strange setup. The sites are side-by-side hookups so you're close there but each camper has a large yard to their door side. Unfortunately, our slide opens to the utility side so I got a nice view of the camper next door. This is one of the reasons I didn't give this a higher rating. The other reason is because they charge extra for just about everything. $2/night per pet, $5/night for pull-through, $2/night for cable, ?? for wifi, ?? to have a campfire, and $2/day for 50 amp. One fellow brought his own fire ring with cover and his own wood and they still charged him. Other than that, it is a very well maintained campground about 40 minutes from Kitty Hawk with free fishing in the stocked lake. We would recommend this campground to others with the caveat about all the extra rates. They only have 4 pull-through sites but the owner will back your RV in if you need help.

Price reflects Senior Pass rate. Our site was on it's own loop about 50' from the lake and was very private. A little difficult to get into with a 40' fiver but then again, we went in "backward" so our view would be toward the lake. The J. Strom Thurmond lake is huge (72,000 acres) and has over 1200 miles of shoreline. The center of the lake is the state line between GA and SC. Peaceful and beautiful. We would stop here again.

What a lovely gem conveniently located right off I-95! Very friendly, helpful owners. Large level pull-through sites in sun (grassy) or shade (under the pines). You do have some pine roots to deal with if you’re in the shade but moving a couple of inches will solve any problem. Catch-and-release lake stocked with catfish, bass and bream. Immaculate new laundry and bathroom facilities, game room with pool table, and playground in the shade for the kids. And for the walkers, 3 times around the sand perimeter drive equals one mile. Excellent cell phone and Verizon broadband reception so I didn’t use the free Wi-Fi. No cable yet but good antenna reception. Propane on-site. Pool is planned. Be aware there’s a small dirt track about a half mile up Route 9 and they run on Saturday nights so sitting outside will be a bit noisy. Nearby attractions include the Darlington Raceway, a working plantation, flea market, and 2 museums. Plenty to do in the area. We will stop here again and stay longer next year. Price reflects PA price for 2 nights.

Very nice park. The $9 fee is with the Golden Age Passport; otherwise $18 a night for a Premium site. HOWEVER, be aware that not all premium sites have sewer as implied on their website! I reserved a premium pull-thru (#24) and it did not have sewer. Only sites #1, #5 and #6 are pull-thru with sewer. 13 of the back-in sites have sewer but some of them might a bit tight to get into with a large rig due to trees. There is a dump station at each of the camping sections but much as I like this park, we may not stay as long as we had wished because I don't feel like going through the take-down, dump, set-up again routine. The campground loop road is 1.5 miles, perfect distance for bicycling or walking. They also have several trails through the woods that are marked and indicate distances along each one. Be sure to wear bug screen though as the deer flies do bite! Areas around the ponds are very noisy at night with frogs and other night critters singing their songs. Really neat. There is Wi-Fi for an additional one time fee of $3.00 and works great! We would most definitely stop here again but will make sure we get site #5 or #6!

Nice little, well-kept campground. Lots of grassy area for tents (no hookups). Sites are easy, level pull-thrus with picnic table and tree. I can see where the one poster felt the sites were too close together because if they used every site, your near-side slide would probably be darn close to your neighbor's awning but, at least while we were there, they parked campers at every other site which was very nice. Several permanents here; several seasonals; and several campers belonging to men working over towards Houston. No problem with electricity; cable is great; and they have 5 wifi sites to choose from. Close to shopping (HEB, small Walmart) and a great seafood restaurant...Nancy's Seafood Grill. Don't miss that! We'll stay here again if we're in the area.

This is a nice, quiet park on a peninsula with the Matagorda Bay on one side and the shipyards on the other. You can back in along the bay or the ship lagoons or use the pull-thrus in the center. The sites are nice and long but very close together. You’re almost at your neighbor’s service connections when you come out your front door. This is not a destination park (no pool or playground for the kiddies) but a great park for relaxing and touring the area. Though not a big town, Palacios is close to Port Lavaca where there's plenty to see and do. Dubbed as having the "largest shrimp fleet in Texas", it’s fun to watch the shrimp boats go out and come back each day. If you're a "birder", there are plenty of different birds to be seen when the tide goes out and reveals thousands of oysters in the oyster beds and snails and other goodies for the birds to feast on. One warning though: If you have a long haired dog, beware! Sand burrs abound!! We would definitely recommend this park to others and we will stay here again if we’re in the area.

Very nice RV park but management needs a little education on how to work with the RVers. That's the only reason I didn't give it a higher rating. Some friends stayed here with us and decided they liked it enough to stay an extra week. They checked with the office to see about an extension of time and, after personnel there hemmed and hawed around for about 20 minutes, they finally told our friends to check back in an hour. Well, during that hour, they found another RV park so moved on. We heard several other campers complain about management, too. That said, they have installed new sites (level, concrete pads) but with no shade. The older sites are not paved but are level and shady. Very nice. Some are longer than others so be sure to indicate the length of rv you have when you reserve your spot. Interior roads a bit narrow but the big Class A’s didn’t appear to have any trouble navigating them. Bathrooms and laundry very clean. Didn’t use the heated pool or hot tub but, although the pool looked a bit on the small side, it was clean. There is an exercise room but the lights didn’t work and there were no instructions on how to use the equipment. Had we gone to an exercise class that was offered, though, we might have learned how to use it. Potluck dinners once a week; crafts, bingo, and other activities. The TV service was good and the high speed Wi-Fi worked well for us. Our dog really appreciated the large dog run. Lots of squirrels to keep you amused and the broad-tailed grackles (or whatever) will provide you with never-ending squawks, whistles, chirps and various other delightful sounds. If you’re parked under a tree, they’ll also give you reason to wash your RV! Even with the management problems, we would stay here again and would recommend it to friends.

The nightly rate does not include the $3 per person park entrance fee. There is a separate tent section and two RV sections (also a section with little cabins). This is a lovely campground with nice-sized lots...not all crammed together. There are no pull-thru lots but the back-ins are "do-able". There is no camping at the South Shore as of this date although there may have been in the past. Gravel sites, grass yards. 30 and 50 amps are available. Be aware that there are no "walk-ins" as there are in many state parks. We didn't know this and had planned on staying a week, but found out all the RV sites are reserved for the coming weekend so we will move on. One thing I didn't like was that you have to drive through the campground first (4 miles from the office) and pick out 3 sites you like. Then you have to drive back to the office and they will let you know of their availability. I guess this is because of reservations. This is a bit of a bother...but it did allow us the chance to pick out what I think was the nicest site there! Fishing is reportedly great but watch out for the alligators! Lots of different birds, deer, raccoons, etc. Just a very nice peaceful campground.

Very nice little park to use as a base for traveling to the RGV. It is peaceful as advertised on the site but it's not necessarily quiet due to road noise on Route 281. We were in a site furthest from the highway but traffic noise was still disconcerting at first. You do get used to it, though. This campground is about 30 miles from the Mission/McAllen area so it's out of the hustle/bustle/traffic of that area but is only a short drive away. We would stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Lovely campground. Yep, they are dirt sites but they're level and large. Activities scheduled for different nights. Convenient to Carlsbad Caverns. Very friendly owners and hosts. RV service right next door. Very clean game room, laundry, Tea Room (for meetings). Neat "library/store" with tons of reading material plus DVD rentals. We would have loved to have stayed longer but they were full starting the day we left. Will definitely stay here when we're in the area again.

Okay place to stay a night or two while visiting the area. Easy off/on I-10. Road noise is noticeable. Sites are close together. There are oil field workers living here but that's not a problem. Nothing fancy but a place to set the wheels. One shower (clean), good cable, level dirt sites, inexpensive full-hookup. We would stay here again if passing through.

A nice park with wide paved roads and cement RV pads with an additional attached cement pad for TV or toad. The easy-to-access pull-through lots along the south side abut the Gander Mountain parking lot with a stockade fence between the park and Gander Mountain. It is a quiet park not counting the road noise which can be a bit loud at times. There are very clean restrooms and showers; a small library; a meeting room with kitchen; laundry; and friendly owners. Wi-Fi is $3 a day via thewirelessweb. I had no trouble with my Verizon aircard. We would definitely stay here again when we're in the area.

We stayed here with Passport-America rate. This is a very nice campground with good access to the clear waters of the Frio River. There is a small store and propane is available at the office. There is a large room for get-togethers. Campers are a friendly bunch and everyone chipped in for a brunch on Christmas. They have game nights, crafts, golf (nearby), and other activities. The 10 cable stations had good reception. My only two complaints was (1) no Verizon phone service but you can buy a Go-Phone (ATT) that supposedly works here. This is a bit of a major complaint because we do not like being without phone service in case of emergencies. However, this is not the fault of the park...and a pay phone is available at the office. They have Wi-Fi but it's through an outside company that you have to sign up with. We would definitely come back here again.

A very nice, quiet, country campground. I echo everything the previous poster said but will add that they just finished blacktopping the pull-thru sites which are a tad narrow but quite long. We did have to use a board to level side-to-side. They feed the deer at 5:00 each evening in the middle of the field so everyone can watch. We only stayed one night, too, due to previous reservations but would return here if in the area again.

This is a nice little RV park about 2 miles outside of Pratt. Warning! If you're going west on 400/54, do not turn left onto 19th Avenue (that's what our GPS told us to do). That road turns into a private driveway with no means of turning around without driving through the field (which we did). The entrance to the Motel/Park is about 100' further up the hill. The wifi might have been available but it wasn't working the night we stayed here. However, I had no trouble with my Verizon air card or the cell phones. Lots are long, wide, and graveled; no trees; no grass but it has fields on 3 sides and the motel on the 4th side so you don't really feel like you're in a parking lot. Rick's Restaurant is within walking distance and serves a good country meal at very reasonable prices. We only used this as a one-night stop on the way to Oklahoma but wouldn't hesitate to stop here in the future for a longer stay to visit Pratt and surrounding area.

The price is the Good Sam's rate. Some campsites are a little difficult to get into due to angle of site and/or tree branches but once you're in, you're okay. There were some very long Class A's and their toads in there and they fit, lengthwise, on the sites. There is a very nice laundry; game room with pool table and shuffleboard plus a full kitchen and large room for meetings. There is a Book swap/library in another room. 1/2 of park are permanents or seasonal campers mostly people working for the oil or gas lines. We recommend this park and would stay here in the future.

That's a Passport-America rate. Campground is a good place to stop for an overnight due to it's proximity to I-40. Be aware that if you're driving west, you turn right when you get off the interstate. Our GPS told us to turn right (and the directions from the website) told us to turn left and we ended up at an "exotic club". Absolutely nothing fancy about this campground. Full hookups and that's it. Also located under the flight path for the Amarillo International Airport which is sort of interesting the first time a big 4-engine jet flies over your RV! No flights after around 10:00 though. Propane and convenience store across the road. There are permanent sites but residents are friendly. Inexpensive place to use as base camp to visit Amarillo, Lake Meredith, or Palo Duro Canyon. We wouldn't hesitate to stop here again.

There IS a benefit to being over 62...half price at COE parks! And, at $7 a night, this was a wonderful park. At this time of year, there were only 4 other campers in the whole campground so we had the park to ourselves. Water & electric only with several dump stations throughout the park. As the previous poster said, each campsite has a covered picnic table and a grill...a really nice touch. My only problem with Ft. Supply COE was that there was NO TV or internet access, even with the Verizon air card. Had to drive to Woodward and park in a motel parking lot for Wi-Fi. We most definitely would recommend this park and will most definitely camp here in the future.

I agree with the previous posters. Friendly, clean campground. Level pull through lots; some shared hookups. The pool probably closed on Labor Day...it was looking a little green when we were here. There is a playground for kids. I felt it was a tad on the high side for only 30 amps and no cable but it's proximity to I-80, it's large, easy-to-access sites, and it's exceptionally clean bathrooms and laundry made the price a little more tolerable. There wasn't much in the store when we were there because a large RV rally had just been there and they hadn't had time to restock. Proximity to riverboat casinos is an added plus. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

We stayed in one of the full-hookup sites for this price. There are also sites with water and electric(20 and 30 amp), from 60-85 feet long and 15 feet wide for $18 and sites with20,30 and 50 amp electric and water, about 20 feet wide by 80 feet long. Not all sites are shaded. Highway noise is present but not objectionable. All sites are easily accessed for even the largest rigs. Iowa's Best Burgers is a short walk from the campground. We would stay here in the future.

The owner was very friendly and helpful. There was a sign on the office door when we arrived telling campers to pick a campsite and settle up with her when she got back. It was easy on and off I-70, and, although it's within 1/4 mile of the highway, you don't really hear the highway noise. The oil well museum closes in September, but there are plenty of rigs, bits, etc. to see outside. There is a great grocery store in Russell--Klema's Hometown Market. Many of the buildings in Russell are constructed of native limestone which is really neat. Russell is only 30 miles east of Hays where the Boot Hill Cemetery is located in addition to a buffalo herd, Historic Fort Hays, Sternberg Museum of Natural History, and other points of interest. We will definitely stay here when we're in the area again.

If we could always stay at places like this and a price like this, we'd be in Camper Heaven! Our price was reduced because of 'off season' but our scenery was as good as it gets; the geese were as noisy as they can be; the peace and quiet were unbeatable. There is a boat launch and a swimming beach but since it was October (and we don't have a boat), we didn't use either. Onawa is a nice little sprawled-out midwestern town; nearest laundry is in Whiting, about 10 minutes away. Indian casino about 5 minutes away. Propane and diesel available at Dave's World, a small truck stop/restaurant next to the exit. We would have stayed much longer but winter's moving in! Would definitely stay here again...and again...and again.

Located behind Cassidy's Motel at Exit 49 (Route 39) of Indiana I-80/I-90. Passport America rate. This is a very nice, well-kept campground with 20 padded spaces right off the interstate. It cannot be considered a “destination campground” because it has none of the so-called important amenities (playground, pool, laundry, store, etc.) but it’s a very nice base camp for overnight or visiting the area. There is a nice pond that must have some fish cause there's a blue heron that fishes there. The only drawback is that I-80/I-90 is only about 100 yards away so you do get traffic noise but it's continual enough that it eventually fades into the background. We would most definitely stay here again.

If this is what Corps of Engineers campgrounds are like, sign me up! The rate reflects an off-season Golden Eagle rate but even at the full rate of $10, you sure can't beat this park. Large pull-throughs, beautiful lake views, peace and quiet. Handicapped accessible restrooms; boat ramp; laundry room; and several playgrounds. My only wish is that they would put some pull-through sites at the east end of the park where the water is. We would most definitely stay here again.

This is basically a small gravel lot with hookups for parking your RV. No pool; no bathrooms; and no showers. For self-contained units only. Easy access off SR 81 about 4 miles northwest of Columbus. We stopped here on our way south. Very close to highway so you do get highway noise but it is clean and well-kept. Corn fields on 3 sides. Other than road noise, it is very quiet. Owner on site and very helpful. We would stop here again.

Easy access off I-90. The driveway in is a bit steep and a lot rough but doable for our 37' fiver. We had a pull-thru site right next to the pavilion/bath house and there were some guys hanging around there when we got to our campsite which made me a bit uneasy. However, soon found they were there for some Lake Erie fishing trips and were staying in the dorm-like rooms in the bath house section of the pavilion. Bathrooms were clean but small (3 showers/1 toilet on women's side) and could use a little updating. They are locked at night but you get a key when you check in. The creek was low in August; it seems their good fishing season is fall through spring. You can purchase PA fishing licenses and all your fishing gear at the store which is geared more for fishing than camping. There is a small catch-and-release pond on the grounds and Lake Erie fishing is 15 minutes away. Very quiet; beautiful scenery; swings, jungle gym and slide for the kids; volleyball net. I think the pull-thru sites are rather close together but since we were the only "big rig" there (most were seasonals), we had the whole area to ourselves. Would definitely stay here again.

We reserved a site at this campground without the benefit of previous reviews and we lucked out. The pull through sites in the front are decently level with a table, fire ring and one or two trees on each site. It appears 2/3 of the campsites are seasonal but they're neat and well kept. Very nice walking trails throughout the campground with several leading to a golf course (don't know the size). Golf clubs for rent in the office. Restrooms are showing their age but they are very clean as is the laundry. Small playground for children (swings & slide); game room with video games; small store with camping basics and groceries; rec room and pavilion. There's a small dirt race track directly across the street that has races on Saturday evenings. Honey dipper comes through 2x a week and there is an RV repair shop in Caledonia that offers mobile repair services. We would definitely camp here again.

When we first got here, the only thing I could say was "WOW, it's HUGE!" And huge it is. As previously said, beach is about a mile away (there are campsites right at the beach but not really good for big rigs) and it is a rocky beach so make sure you have water shoes to wear. The spaces are not particularly large but it was an easy pull-through for us while my son had a tight back-in spot. This is most definitely a campground for families with lots of activities to keep even the most finicky child occupied. Clean pool, shuffleboard and tennis courts, large game room with mechanical games to suit any age (even us "oldsters"). Candy bar bingo and nicely stocked store. Movies and a large playground. Many, many electric (quiet) golf carts of all shapes and sizes so you have to be on the lookout if you're walking or driving a regular vehicle. We would stay here again.

We used this as an overnight stop. Sites are easy pull-thrus and wide. We stayed hooked up and although our truck was on a slope, the fiver wheels were on the level; we didn't need to use any of our leveling equipment. There are seasonals here but they're neat and well kept. Saw everything from a tent to a 42' Class A. Pizza shop within walking distance if you don't feel like cooking. We were only able to get one local TV station using our antenna. You do hear the noise from the highway but, hey, you're not in the middle of the woods...and in the summer, with the air conditioner on, not a problem. We wouldn't hesitate to stop here again.

Very convenient stop for overnight or while visiting the VA Horse Park or historic Lexington. As the others have said, it's between the multi-level truck stop and I-81 but you don't hear much noise from either at night. During the day, I-80 is a bit noisy when you're outside the RV. They only have 2 pull-through sites and we were told they don't take reservations for them. Verizon air cards work great here. My only 2 wishes would be for more pull-thru sites and well-signed, designated parking area for campers while signing up. You do have to sign up in the truck stop office. However, we would stop here again.

Though it's listed as big rig friendly, the sites aren't really long enough for a long fiver and tow vehicle or a large Class A with a toad. You have to park across the front of your rig and our dual-wheel truck stuck out onto the road. The entrance road could use some work as it's a bit rutted and rocky. Now for the good: great cable; nicely landscaped (though not necessarily level) wide sites; clean pool; exercise room; friendly, helpful owners.

Nice campground; level sites; they lead you to your site in a golf cart. Open year round but they tell you that during the winter, if the temps are going to dip to the 30's during the night, they turn the water off. Turn it back on in the a.m. I do wish they had cable. Pay for WiFi, as was mentioned. One of the most convenient things for us is that there is a pizza parlor somewhere nearby that delivers to the campground! Great for when you get in late at night and don't feel like cooking. I would stay here again and would recommend it to friends.

Easy access from interstate. This campground must be beautiful in the summer. There are plants all over the place. Sites are quite close together but there aren't a lot of campers in December so there was at least one space between us and another camper. Restrooms appear to have been redone and are sparkling clean. Pool and slide for during the summer. Very congenial and helpful owner is working on putting in new, larger sites and a pond. Other than current lot size, the only negative is that the dumpsters are some distance from the camping area. We will stop here the next time we're in the area.

Owner goes all out to be helpful. Campground is not a destination campground but rather a base for nearby touring. About 30 minutes from Durham and Duke Medical Center, 15 from Chapel Hill. Sites are large. Occupants ranged from mobile homes (either seasonal or full time) to large Class A's, fifth wheels, and trailers - full time, seasonal, weekender's, overnighters. Most sites are shaded. WiFi is most excellent. Cable choices abundant. Trash is picked up at the campsite 2x a week. Monthly rate includes electric so you know just what your expenses are going to be. Secure, quiet, friendly. Would recommend this to anyone who doesn't need entertainment and playgrounds.

Pros: Very clean and well kept. Very friendly and helpful management. Small enough so I would imagine that if you stayed a week or more, you'd know everyone else in the park. It also had some rental cabins at the end of the lake. Cons: We had a small site #12. Not enough room for tow vehicle and 32' 5th wheel front to back; had to park truck horizontally in front of trailer. . . which was a bit hazardous because of sunken fire pits. Sites further up the row appeared to be longer. Also did not like the water connection being located ABOVE the electrical connection. We will camp here again...but pick a different site.
